Guwahati: Assam CM visits residence of late Late Basanti Sharma at Uzabazar

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday visited the residence of Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Late Basanti Sharma at Uzanbazar, Guwahati.

The Chief Minister visited the residence of Basanti Sharma who passed away at the age of 82 and expressed his deepest condolences to her two sons.

Speaking to the family, CM Sarma praised Basanti Sharma and termed her as simple and kind woman.

He also added, that Basanti Sharma represented Assam in the Rajya Sabha with great pride and also raised all the burning issues of the state in the Rajya Sabha during her tenure as an MP.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister Ashok Singhal, MP Pavithra Margherita and Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ranghang.
