Guwahati: CM Sarma Welcomes Bhutan King as Wangchuk Begins his 3-day maiden visit to Assam
The King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck has arrived in Guwahati, he is on an official visit to India from November 3-10 2023.
He was welcome by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
Taking to X formerly known as Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “On behalf of the people of Assam, I am elated to welcome His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan. Under the guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, we look forward to the strengthening of the special relationship between our two countries.”

The king has been accompanied by his wife, Queen Jetsun Pema, and the couple’s two sons.
He along with his family is slated to visit Kamakhya Mandir later in the day.
