Singaporean push for Guwahati’s Act East move

Guwahati is soon to get a smart logistic park which will boost its credentials as an crucial hub for India’s Act East move. The project would be built on a budget of Rs 40 to 60 crores.

This was announced by the High Commissioner of Singapore Simon Wong at the Act East Policy Meet held in Guwahati.

Wong said that the Singaporean government would assist the Assam government in building infrastructure projects and also that Singapore would form a master plan for Guwahati as well.

Meanwhile, the special event at Guwahati today was held by the Act East Policy Effects Department with the aim of bringing in economic development in Assam and build relations among people.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, industries minister Chandramohan Patowary and Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Team member Sanjeev Sanyal also attended the meet. Apart from them, ambassadors and high commissioners of other ASEAN countries also attended the meet.
