Guwahati: Youth stabbed to death at Maligaon; in Beltola, man from Tripura found hanging on gate

Amid Bihu festivities, Guwahati woke up this morning to two horrible incidents of murders.

The first incident was reported from the Beltola area. A body of a man was found hanging from the gate of a house at Saurabh Nagar in Guwahati’s Beltola locality.

The deceased who has been identified as Subal Dev Verma hailed from Tripura.

The victim is believed to have been murdered before being hanged on the gate.

The incident took place early Sunday and local residents were quick to alert the police.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials found the body of Dev Verma hanging from the gate. They immediately launched an investigation into the matter.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, and the police have appealed to the people for any information that could help in the investigation.

Meanwhile, the family of the victim is reeling from the tragedy and has appealed to the authorities to ensure that justice is served.

In another incident, a youth was found brutally murdered in the Maligaon area on April 15.

As per sources, the murder took place in Maligaon Bihutoli near the railway stadium. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Kumar. 

Investigation for both murder incidents is underway.
