Guwahati shocker: Man murders woman with whom he was extra-marital relation, hangs self later

GUWAHATI, Aug 28: Guwahati woke up to another chilling murder with a woman having to pay with her life after she was brutally hacked to death by a man with whom she was having an extra-marital relation.

Rita Das, a mother of two, and a resident of Boragaon locality in Guwahati, was found lying in a pool of blood after being attacked with an iron rod by a man named Niranjan Gohain with whom she was having an extra-marital affair.

The accused also attacked the woman’s husband and her two kids before hanging himself.

While Rita’s body was found inside their house, her husband Aboni and their two children were also found injured after being attacked by Niranjan. They are now undergoing treatment at GMCH.

Police recovered the body of Niranjan hinging from the ventilator of Rita and Aboni’s house. Incidentally, the victim had met the attacker three years ago and began a relationship with him.

Three months ago, Rita Das left her husband and her two children and began living with Niranjan. However, a few days ago she returned to her husband’s house that reportedly left her lover enraged.
