Assam Police arrests Charaideo ASP Subhalakshmi Dutta Accused of Torturing Maid

Subhalakshmi Dutta, the suspended additional superintendent of police (border), Charaideo district, has been arrested by the Assam Police from Sivasagar district on Saturday morning.

Dutta has been absconding since August 26, after a case was registered against her by one Anima Praja who was working as domestic help at her Nazira residence.

Praja in her complaint had alleged that Dutta tried to murder her and also tortured her brutally during her stay as domestic help.

Anima Praja, who worked as domestic help at ASP Dutta’s residence, alleged that the police officer has been torturing her since 2019. She has accused the police officer of pouring boiled water on her body, applying pepper all over her body, and even applying pepper to her genitals.

According to sources, the victim’s body bears the scars of unimaginable abuse, sparking outrage within the community.
