Assam: Most Wanted Drug Mafia injured in police fire while trying to escape

One of the most wanted Drug Mafia of Assam, Hemkat Ali, was injured in police firing in Nagaon, while he attempted to escape from police custody on Monday night.

According to reports, Assam Police carried out a search operation at the residence of Hekmat Ali and arrested him at Samaguri in Nagaon district, and seized huge quantities of brown sugar along with a vehicle and Rs 32 thousand cash from his possession.

While, taking him to the Police station Ali tried to fllee from the custody but was injured in police firing.

Ali is currently receiving medical care for his injuries at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), where he has been admitted.
