Assam: No more ranking system in HSLC & HS exams from next academic session

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Thursday said that the ranking system in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination and Higher Secondary (HS) Examination will be removed from the upcoming academic year.

Speaking to the media Minister Pegu said, ” Rankings doesn’t help the students secure any future opportunities as no one gets a job anywhere with a certificate of rank. It’s just a way for family to celebrate. IIT or AIIMS don’t give admissions on the basis of this ranking certificates so their is no actual use of this ranking system in Assam.”
