Israel, Hezbollah reach ceasefire deal for Lebanon
GUWAHATI, Nov 27: A US-brokered ceasefire deal between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah got into effect early today (Nov 27) with the agreement calling for a 60-day truce as both Israeli troops and Hezbollah fighters withdrew from Southern Lebanon.
Israel, however, said that if Hezbollah violated the truce agreement, it would have the right to retaliate.
US President and UK PM both hailed the ceasefire deal.
While Joe Biden called the deal “a good news” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the deal was “long overdue”.
