Maharashtra Chief Minister to be from BJP, will have 2 deputy CMs: Reports
GUWAHATI, Nov 28: The new Chief Minister of Maharashtra will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party and will be backed by two deputy CMs — most likely from Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction and from the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, reports stated.
BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis, who was CM between 2014 and 2019, and for few days again in November 2019 is tipped to become Chief Minister pipping Eknath Shinde.
The BJP decimated the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance of the Congress, the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv SEna and Sharad Pawar faction of NCP winning 132 seats alone in the 288-member Assembly while the Mahayuti alliance won 235 seats.
While elections were held on Nov 20, results were declared on Nov 23.
