Assam Police has been continuing a statewide crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and have foiled numerous attempts by Bangladeshi nationals to illegally enter Assam
The Assam government continued its crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi nationals with Assam Police pushing back 18 Bangladeshi immigrants in Cachar and Sribhumi districts on Saturday (July 5).
“Oh look who’s going back to their home? In Assam, we welcome guests with open arms but those trying to illegally prolong their stay are treated with the special gesture of PUSHBACK,” Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a post on ‘X‘, formerly Twitter.
“18 illegal Bangladeshis pushed back today in wee hours from Cachar and Sribhumi,” he also wrote.
The Assam Police has been continuing a statewide crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, who have been staying in the State without valid documents besides also maintaining strict vigil at the international border with Bangladesh and foiling numerous attempts by migrants to cross over to Assam.
