Modi 3.0: Rajya Sabha MP Pabitra Margherita to take oath as MoS, Sarbananda Sonowal to get cabinet berth
GUWAHATI, June 9: Rajya Sabha MP Pabitra Margherita will be inducted into Narendra Modi’s council of ministers as a Minister of State while Sarbananda Sonowal will be retained as a cabinet minister, sources in the national cabinet told News Live.
Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term at 7:15 pm today, equalling the record of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Apart from Sonowal and Margherita, Kiren Rijiju, who was also a cabinet minister in Modi 2.0 after having served as an MoS in the Home Ministry with exceptional brilliance during the first term, will also be retained as a cabinet minister.
Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, now a Rajya Sabha MP, is also likely to make it to the council of ministers.
Earlier in the morning, MPs who will take the oath of office and secrecy as ministers attended the tea meeting at 7 LKM hosted by Prime Minister Modi.
