Pahalgam Terror Attack: Centre bans 16 Pakistani YouTube channels: The central government on Monday banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for airing “provocative content” and spreading “false narratives” on India in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, reports said.
The 16 YouTube channels had a combined subscriber base of 63.08 million.
Among the YouTube channels banned by the central government are channels of news outlets Dawn, Samaa TV, ARY News, Bol News, Raftar, Geo News and Suno News.
YouTube channels of journalists Irshad Bhatti, Asma Shirazi, Umar Cheema and Muneeb Farooq have also been banned along with the YouTube handles The Pakistan Reference, Samaa Sports, Uzair Cricket and Razi Naama.

Apart from these channels, the YouTube channel of former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has also been banned.

For more details about government removal requests, please visit the Google Transparency Report (transparencyreport.google.com),” a message greeted internet users in India on trying to access the banned YouTube channels.
Reports said that the Pakistani YouTube channels have been posting anti-India provocative and sensitive content and peddling false and misleading content against the India, the Indian Army and our country’s security establishment in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people, including 25 Hindu tourists, were gunned down by Pakistani terrorists.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier vowed that those involved in the Pahalgam terror attack would get a punishment they cannot even imagine and that India will “identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers”.
New Delhi also suspended the Indus Water Treaty while revoking visas of Pakistani nationals as part of the country’s response following the dastardly attack orchestrated by the Pakistani terrorists.
