The 37-year-old Faf du Plessis of South Africa has not stopped the bat yet. He has shown his power in all the T20 leagues and tournaments around the world, due to which he once again got respect in the IPL auction and the Royal Challengers Bangalore team has bought him for Rs 7 crore. Faf du Plessis was a part of Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL till last year. But Chennai did not retain him.

Faf du Plessis played the biggest role in making Chennai Super Kings champions for the fourth time by playing a blistering innings of 86 runs in the final of IPL 2021 but still CSK did not retain him. Well, not only in the finals, Du Plessis was seen performing brilliantly throughout the last season. He scored 633 runs in 16 matches of the last season. He became the highest run-scorer in IPL 2021.

Du Plessis missed out on winning the Orange Cap last year by just 2 runs. This title was won by the young player of his team (CSK), Ruturaj Gaikwad. By the way, in the CPL 2021 (Caribbean Premier League) before the IPL, Du Plessis scored 277 runs in 9 matches with a bang. He also got a century in that tournament with the bat.
