Guwahati: Bhogali Mela 2024 organised by Pride East group kickstarts in Dighalipukhuri

Guwahati: With the festival of Bhogali Bihu or Magh Bihu just two away, preparations to celebrate the festival in its traditional fervour are in full swing in Assam.

To celebrate the spirit of Magh Bihu ‘Bhogali Bihu 2024’ is being held at Guwahati’s Dighalipukhari under the aegis of Pride East Entertainment Limited showcasing Bihu delicacies and traditional handicrafts associated with the festival.

The Bhogali Mela celebrates the long-preserved tradition of cooking delicacies such as Pitha, ladu and other handicrafts that are a part of Magh Bihu celebrations.

The mela titled “Bhogali Mela 2024′ is providing both buyers and sellers a platform to showcase buy and even consume Bihu delicacies such as pitha pona larus under a single roof. 

Assam Agriculture minister Autul Bora inuagurated the fair accompanied by Syed Zarir Hussain, Vice President, Media, Pride East Group, News Live editor-in-chief, Wasbir Hussain, Northeast Live editor-in-chief and other dignitaries. 

Minister Atul Bora along with the rest of the people visited the stalls at the fair and tasted the delicacies from the stalls and also looked at traditional items on display.

Meanwhile, preparations for Bhogali Bihu festivities have begun in full swing across the state.

People are busy constructing traditional Bhegahars made out of wood, bamboo and hay that would be ceremonially burnt on the day of the festival
